During her recent guesting at the “Insight” podcast, WWE Superstar Natalya delved into various topics, from her 18-year WWE journey to the challenges she perceives for the women wrestlers in the company. She also hinted at her eagerness for more engaging future storylines.
Addressing the widespread criticisms on the perceived underuse of the WWE female talent, Natalya shared her thoughts. As a seasoned figure in the industry, she reflected on how the current era, obsessed with immediate satisfaction, impacts WWE thinking and the intricacies of organizing a weekly show.
Natalya stated, “Let me tell you something, a topic I have been reflecting on lately. I was conversing with my mother, my go-to person for everything, and I was relating to her how everyone nowadays has a platform facilitated by the online world, whether it’s Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, or other social media. The best part about these platforms is that they give everyone a voice. It’s remarkably easy to express your indignation or your desires-I mean, I would have loved to be the inaugural Women’s IC Champion. But it has to be timed right. We’re living in a world where everyone wants it all and wants it instantly.”
She reiterated her patience in waiting for the perfect storyline to highlight her skills. “While it’s natural that people have wants and expectations, especially for the Women’s Division, it’s important to remember that planning a weekly TV show is no walk in the park. The fans are seldom privy to the behind-the-scenes realities-things like injuries or change of plan in sync with the bigger picture. I’ve been with WWE for 18 years, and while I would love to have more opportunities, I realize the importance of timing,” she said.
Expressing faith in the future, Natalya teased, “I have the belief that the fitting story will come around soon. By the way, some colossal announcements are on the horizon, particularly concerning what I’m currently up to. It’s going to be quite the thrill when those stories eventually become a reality.”
