Bret Hart, dual inductee into WWE Hall of Fame, regards his WrestleMania 13 clash with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin as his greatest career match.
In the No-Disqualification Submission match, which also included Ken Shamrock as a special guest referee, Hart and Austin went head-to-head.
During a recent episode of the “Attitude Era” podcast, Hart highly praised Austin and their WrestleMania 13 face-off. He shared,
“Steve was one of the individuals I savored working with the most. He was an exceptional wrestler, and he would have been great even without wrestling me. Although I don’t want to undermine his capabilities, I undoubtedly believe our match was the finest one he ever participated in. Moreover, it was my very best match as well, simply outstanding.”
Hart emerged victorious in the match, with Austin losing consciousness in the grip of Hart’s renowned sharpshooter. This match is unanimously hailed as the highlight of the pay-per-view event.
Austin’s blood-streaked face from this iconic match has taken on legendary status. The following year, Austin had his first taste of victory with the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 14.
