Throughout his impressive wrestling career, MVP has held a multitude of titles. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he has yet to achieve the status of World Champion in TNA Wrestling.
In a recent episode of the “F Y’all” podcast, MVP shed light upon his 2014 journey with TNA. He opened up about initial plans for a championship run that sadly, did not materialize.
He narrated his experience, “I went to Impact and I was supposed to win the Impact World Heavyweight Title, but I was in England on an independent show and I blew out my knee. So they came up with this idea, ‘Do you know Bobby Lashley,’ I said ‘yeah he’s a good friend of mine.’ ‘So how do you feel about us bringing him in where you bring him in to be your ringer and he competes for you and he wins the title?’ I said ‘let’s do it.’”
Bobby Lashley’s introduction not only resulted in him claiming the champion title, but for a period, he comfortably held the World Championship, the X-Division Championship, and the King of the Mountain Championship.
Currently, both MVP and Lashley are bright stars in the AEW universe. Lashley, alongside Shelton Benjamin, are enjoying their inaugural reign as the AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Of late, MVP has been hinting at including MJF, a former AEW World Champion, into the Hurt Syndicate. However, MJF has yet to officially confirm his move.
The following is a detailed conversation between MVP and Shelton Benjamin on topics such as The Hurt Syndicate, their music tastes, promo styling, and more.
