MVP and Shelton Benjamin shocked the wrestling world as they made their initial appearances in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) during the WrestleDream event of 2024 last month. Bobby Lashley made his unexpected debut within AEW a few weeks later on a thrilling episode of AEW Dynamite Fright Night, initiating an unexpected attack on Swerve Strickland.
In an enlightening conversation with wrestling personality Renee Paquette, MVP discussed the motive behind reviving their group, formerly acknowledged as The Hurt Business within the WWE universe, under the renewed banner – The Hurt Syndicate, in the AEW setting.
MVP made clear, “Regrettably, it was dissolved much earlier than any of us was prepared for. We were driven by the desire to offer our narrative the appropriate closure it rightfully deserved. Tony Khan was generous enough to extend the opportunity for us to migrate and reestablish our consortium here.”
From Lashley’s perspective, he expressed that he had been aspiring to recreate something akin to The Hurt Business ever since his boxing career and AEW provided the perfect platform to cultivate that dream once again.
In his initial AEW in-ring performance, slated to happen at AEW Full Gear 2024, Lashley is scheduled to wrestle against Strickland. An intriguing glimpse into The Hurt Syndicate’s journey can be found in a recent interview with Renee Paquette, available on YouTube.
