WWE’s resident baller officially became United States Champion once again after Apollo Crews failed to show up for their title match and lost via forfeit. During an appearance on The Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore, MVP defended his unorthodox victory, saying that he’s still the rightful holder of the newly designed belt.

Possession is nine-tenths of the law right? Apollo signed a contract to have a match and he was unable to show up. He violated that contract so he forfeited the right to call himself a champion.

Booker T agreed with Montel, saying that as long as he walks away with a belt, he doesn’t care how the result came about.

MVP also went over the story of how he went from a surprise at the Royal Rumble to a resurgent second run in WWE, and how many things that were deemed acceptable in his first run in the locker room are now no longer cool.
