During a recent installment of the “AEW Close Up” podcast, hosted by Renee Paquette, well-known wrestlers MVP and Bobby Lashley shared the reasons behind their decision to revive The Hurt Syndicate within the realm of Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling franchise.

Below are some interesting takeaways from their discussions on the podcast:

Explaining the reasoning behind the group’s rebirth in AEW, MVP shared, “We came up with a concept, thanks to Bobby initially, which we skillfully brought to life and it organically caught on. Sadly, it was concluded prematurely before anyone was prepared for it to finish. We believed that our narrative deserved an apt closure and Tony Khan graciously allowed us to reintroduce our combination here and persist in outperforming others.”

As for why they chose to reunite the group, Lashley revealed, “We were in a discussion backstage and observed, ‘P’s present, the pair of us are here,’ I voiced, ‘That itself constitutes a group.’ The audience longed for our comeback. Even till this moment before our return, whenever I uploaded a post, at least one response would be ‘Hurt Business,’ ‘Hurt Business,’ ‘Hurt Business.’ They constantly wished to witness our reunion as it was authentic… and we realized, ‘We must recreate it,’ and this was the perfect juncture to do so.”
