Impact Wrestling star Josh Alexander came in at #9 on this year’s PWI 500 list of best wrestlers, and he recently spoke with “WhatCulture” to give his thoughts on the ranking. He said,
“I mean, my inner child that collected those magazines and discovered pro wrestlers by reading those lists. I didn’t know who Akuta Hadaka was when I picked up my first PWI magazine, but I was like, ‘This guy’s ranked pretty high, I’m gonna check him out.’ Then I check him out, this guy’s amazing, you know what I mean?”
He continued, “I discovered so many wrestlers just by reading those lists over the years and now for me to number nine, I know that there’s fans out there that are going to read through this list and they might not know who I am. They might not tune into IMPACT Wrestling, but now they might tune in just to see what I’m about and they’ll see what everybody else on the roster is about. I think we’ve been all knocking it out of the park as a locker room, so I think it’s a great way to get recognition on not just myself, but the company as a whole.”
Prior to departing WWE, Muhammad Hassan faced off against the one and only Undertaker at the 2005 Great American Bash pay-per-view event.

On facing The Undertaker: “[Undertaker] is just the guy, never had an issue with him. Always very gracious in the ring, always very easy and light to work with, but also just an unbelievable genius about telling a story. I’m the heel and he’s leading me, which I … obviously wouldn’t have it any other way, he’s The Undertaker. One of my most favorite matches of all time was my last match ever in the WWE ring, and that was against The Undertaker and it was bittersweet”
On his mindset at the time of the match: “I do remember the sadness that I had. I drove there because, again, I lived in Syracuse, and I was staying at my parents house. I remember driving back and just being like, ‘Okay, now what?’ But I’ll tell you what, that’s the one thing that I am … I wasn’t thinking, ‘Poor me, poor me.’ I was thinking, ‘Well, what’s next? What happens next? What do I do next?’”
