In the latest episode of the podcast “Busted Open Radio”, WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion, Kelani Jordan, opened up about the impact of the legendary WWE Hall of Famer, Rob Van Dam, on her wrestling techniques.
Here are a few noteworthy points from the podcast conversation:
Discussing how the wrestling style of Rob Van Dam has influenced her, Jordan stated, “RVD is definitely a favorite of mine. His work has significantly shaped a big portion of my own style. If you observe my style, you’ll see it bears a resemblance to his, and also that of Rey (Mysterio). While I try to infuse my uniqueness into it, I also believe in acknowledging the icons who paved the way for me.”
When asked if she could mimic Van Dam’s signature move, Van Terminator, Jordan responded, “Absolutely, I could. While I don’t want to replicate every move, I do enjoy incorporating some of his strategies. Alongside this, it’s paramount for me to also be original and devise moves that are distinctly ‘Kelani’. I’m confident I can achieve those feats. It was an honour to receive his approval when we met during WrestleMania weekend. I interpret that as a mark of validation.”
