The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed more information on Washington’s hiring and what his job entails.

According to the report, Khan became interested in Washington due to his knowledge of wrestling, and the AEW President had him on his radar for a while.

Washington was described as a ‘long-time message board’ individual, as well as a tape trader type who has a strong memory of wrestling facts and dates, similar to Khan.

Washington is expected to help Khan with the creative process. He will assist Khan in writing the shows, keeping talent ‘more visible’, and organizing storylines.

Simply put, Washington’s job primarily focuses on lightening some of the load for Khan, who has been booking five hours of AEW TV by himself, alongside 90 minutes a week of ROH, as well as pay-per-view events. That is in addition to his work in soccer and football.

Khan has also been assisted by Sonjay Dutt, QT Marshall, Pat Buck, and Tony Schiavone, as well as a key talent who has provided their input with regard to their angles.

While Khan will have the final say in all matters, the increase in workload necessitated assistance from someone competent enough to keep up with him.
