Drew McIntyre could be parting ways with WWE, as it’s believed that his contract will be expiring soon.

McIntyre has been functioning under the assumption that he will be leaving and nothing has changed with regard to his stance on the matter. He will be off television for another couple of weeks.

Fightful Select is reporting that McIntyre’s deal is actually up in early 2024, around next year’s WrestleMania 40 pay-per-view event.

McIntyre has reportedly been operating as though it will be his final WrestleMania.

While “The Sexy Scotsman” is leaning toward an exit, he doesn’t have any plans regarding where he will end up next.

If both sides haven’t reached an agreement by the time his contract expires, McIntyre is open to parting ways, with an option to return to WWE later.

McIntyre has been performing injured with several injuries that require healing.

However, McIntyre wanted to get through WrestleMania 39 for his Intercontinental Title match with Sheamus and GUNTHER, so he could put over the Austrian Superstar.

McIntyre reportedly has some frustration on his end based on several situations of “not being on the same page” as WWE.

For example, McIntyre is typically told ahead of time which brand he will go to as part of the annual Draft, but that didn’t happen this year.

The Scottish Psychopath didn’t know that he would be on the RAW brand until it was announced on television. This was one of the multiple miscommunications between McIntyre and WWE over the last couple of years.

McIntyre is reportedly “very hands on” with his creative whenever possible. WWE has already pitched him to return as a heel, but it’s expected there will be some pushback as the former WWE Champion wants it to make sense. McIntyre is also unwilling to make “dramatic changes” unless it makes sense from a creative standpoint.

WWE has been taking a different approach to contract renewals in the past couple of years, and it’s unknown how that will change now that the company has been acquired by Endeavor.
