More Information On AEW’s ‘Le Dinner Debonair’ Segment
Chris Jericho & MJF
The internet went crazy this past Wednesday when Chris Jericho and MJF had a steak dinner that broke out into a musical performance. Chris Jericho dubbed the segment as ‘the greatest moment in the history of wrestling’.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer dug more into the segment recently, reporting that the original idea for the musical number came from MJF after he watched the film ‘Rocketman’. MJF originally wanted to sing Elton John with Jericho, but Jericho wanted to go with Rat Pack song, ‘My Shadow And Me’ instead.
The segment was put together with only one day of work and a seven hour shoot that kept everyone awake until 2am. Jericho revealed that the entire segment was edited and ready for air just 22 minutes before it would go up on AEW Dynamite. Jericho said, “Basically, we had that ready to go about 22 minutes before it aired and we filmed last night until about 2 AM. You never know what’s going to happen on live TV but you buckle up, get the job done, put on a great show, and make sure you guys have fun.”
