All Elite Wrestling fired CM Punk after he and Jack Perry had been suspended for their behavior at the AEW All In 2023 pay-per-view event.
AEW did investigate the situation, leading to it being recommended to Tony Khan that he fire Punk, which happened on Saturday.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there’s more to Punk’s AEW release than what has been reported. However, he stated that it’s nothing as significant as to what has already been known.
Sports Illustrated is reporting that sources close to both sides expect a response from Punk, which could potentially be explosive.
