The return of Tessa Blanchard to TNA Wrestling has been detailed further by Fightful Select, after she took a four-year hiatus from the wrestling company.
The shocking decision to welcome back Blanchard raised eyebrows among wrestlers in AEW, WWE, and TNA Wrestling, with many of them expressing skepticism over the move by the Anthem-owned wrestling promotion.
In anticipation of a potential negative reaction, the significant announcement was kept under wraps from the TNA team and many other staff members who would usually be briefed.
Despite the controversy surrounding Blanchard, some within TNA Wrestling continue to support her. One insider mentioned the company’s optimism that the new wave of talent joining the roster would not be influenced by her past and would be receptive to collaborating with her.
An additional informant suggested that during this tenure, Blanchard plans to exhibit her “best behavior”.
Sources report that TNA Wrestling has been preparing Blanchard’s homecoming for at least two weeks. The decision came from a “top person in Anthem”, choosing to move forward despite numerous cautionary advices from other company members.
Notably, the recently appointed Anthem President Carlos Silva was not the one who authorized this move.
Sources speculate that Blanchard will make her comeback in a heel persona. Initial strategies included pairing her with Jordynne Grace, however, Grace allegedly “pushed back” against this plan.
One insider hinted that TNA is strategizing to bring in fresh faces as they foresee the departure of wrestlers such as “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Jordynne Grace, and Josh Alexander.
