MLW Fusion Recap: LA Park & Promociones Dorado Battle CONTRA Before SuperFight
“LA Park’s baby boy is hurt,” states Josef Samael to start off this week’s MLW Fusion, and Jacob Fatu shows that he is all ready for El Hijo’s famous father at SuperFight in Chicago.
The first match on the show before the big Chicago showdown this Saturday had the Hart Foundation come out to face the luchadores of Extreme Tiger and the recent wave-maker in wrestling Dragon Lee.
The Hart Foundation defeated Dragon Lee & Extreme Tiger
The bell rings and it’s Dragon Lee facing off against one salty Pillman who taunts him by getting a little tranquil on the canvas. Pillman feins for a handshake but locks Lee in a headlock. The two go back and forth until they meet in a stalemate with stereo dropkicks. Lee however gets a chance to do his own “Cosmopolitan” pose in retaliation.
Extreme Tiger and Davey Boy soon exchange chops and Bulldog shows his power against the quicker, yet smaller Tiger. These two also meet in a stalemate and Davey Boy goes for the handshake against Tiger. Tiger obliges but gets pulled in by Davey Boy. More power on display from him.
Davey Boy tags in Pillman who chops Tiger in the corner, but it doesn’t take long for Tiger to give him more than a few receipts and Davey Boy has to come in for the save.
The two cut off half of the ring and Dragon Lee plays a non-factor as Davey Boy shows off more of his strength. He sits down in a Boston crab which causes Lee to break it all up. He soons hits a powerslam for two.
Tiger and Brian start slapping one another in one mean slugfest and it’s evident that Tiger is really in need of a tag. Pillman corners him once more, but Tiger finds the window of opportunity and hits a senton square on the hips of Brian and he makes the much-needed tag to Dragon Lee. Lee cleans house and soon it’s him and Pillman exchanging forearms. Pillman hits a package driver, but Lee pops up and knees him in the head for one very near fall.
Davey Boy gets his chance but Lee’s momentum cannot be slowed down and pops Brian down with a suicide dive.
This however, leaves the chance for Brian and Davey Boy to execute a springboard Hart Attack on Tiger for the impressive victory.
Salina de la Renta snickers to herself about CONTRA while chewing on a cigar. She is the power and the constant in MLW and this Saturday Promociones Dorado is taking back the MLW World Heavyweight Championship and she’ll be more powerful than ever. She wants Fatu to prepare to kiss her ring.
LA Park isn’t pleased about CONTRA attacking his son and he doubles down that he will indeed break Fatu’s “f*ckin’ face.”
In the newest episode of Lifestyles Of The Rich & Dynastic, the rich boys are back home, but it seems as if Holliday doesn’t have his Air Pods. Luckily, he has a new set of Louie Vitton buds for his ears and MJF wants to have a toast being back on American soil. “To winning, to America and to The Dynasty.”
The Von Erichs caught wind of Dynasty’s debauchery and don’t think it’s a very wise move on the Tag Champs’ part. They’ll see them Saturday in a Texas Tornado Match.
Before The Hart Foundation got their win tonight, they experienced Tijuana to the fullest and Davey Boy is appreciative of the fans coming out to support MLW. “We’re expanding everywhere.”
Proximo & Terror Azteca defeated Toto & Torito
Proximo & Terror Azteca take on Toto & Torito in Lucha Libre tag action (no tags needed). Proximo and Toto slap away at one another as Toto lariats him down. Tot goes for a baseball slide by Proximo catches him in a fireman’s carry before dumping Toto down on the outside. Promixo comes splashing on top of Toto from the top turnbuckle in a high-risk maneuver.
Meanwhile, Terror Azteca vaults off with a missile dropkick on Torito before planting him down on his head with one fierce headscissor takedown for the quick W.
Promociones Dorado defeated CONTRA Unit
Tijuana is in for quite the treat as Promociones Dorado takes on CONTRA in the main event. LA Park gets plenty of love from the crowd but it’s all business as the bell rings. It’s Park, Beastia 666 and Mecha Wolf against Samael, Simon Gotch and Ikuro Kwan. The action quickly spills to the outside and Samael soon tries to sink his teeth into LA Park with headbutts. “Lucha rules” are in full effect as the brawl continues to boil.
Gotch delivers a vicious knee to Beastia 666 as Samael wields a chair against Park. CONTRA is in control as the chaos soon gets concentrated to the canvas of the ring. However, the agility soon comes into play and it sparks some life into Promociones Dorado which is capped off by a LA Park leap onto the outside.
The Destroyer comes up limping but quickly goes on the attack against Samael. The Chairman soon gains hold of his signature property and begins choking Samael with the edge of it before smacking Simon with it. Mecha Wolf and Beastia double team Ikuro with a Doomsday Device. The two face plant Simon and it’s all Promociones Dorado as the crowd goes crazy for LA Park. Park hits Samael with a sharp knee to the skull and gets a near fall.
Samael hits a DDT onto Park but he kicks out and hits a powerslam for a pinfall attempt of his own. Kick out. Park fish hooks Samael before the CONTRA crew come in to break it up. Beastia helps send Mecha Wolf through the ropes onto Gotch, but Kwan lifts Beastia up with a full nelson into a neckbreaker. Near fall, but not quite. Beastia avoids a corner splash and hits Kwon down with a muscle buster, setting up Mecha Wolf for a 450, but Gotch quickly breaks it all up.
Gotch and Beastia strike one another and Gotch nearly gets a fall before LA Park stops it. Samael attacks Park from behind, but LA Park fights back and lariats down Josef for a two-count. Gotch attacks Park and Beastia stares him down. Beastia delivers another muscle onto Gotch. Mecha Wolf ascends for the 450, but Kwan sprays that all-too-familiar mist in the eyes of Wolf. Beastia kicks Kwon off the apron but Samael sends a fireball Beastia’s way. However, LA runs in for the spear and the win!
Park celebrates with the Tijuana crowd as we receive word that Fatu is being restrained in the back. You have to believe that Promociones Dorado is ready to roll come Saturday, particularly The Destroyer himself!
