Man of the people and wrestling hero Maxwell Jacob Friedman was assaulted by the dastardly Jonathan Moxley on the most recent episode of Dynamite. Attacking from behind, the current AEW Champion locked MJF into his double underhook DDT finisher and utilized it to great effect, possibly injuring the candidate that reportedly has 100% of the nation on his side in his quest to become the next holder of AEW Championship gold.
To that effect, MJF’s legal council Mark Sterling is petitioning All Elite Wrestling to ban Dictator Jon’s heinous Paradigm Shift finishing move and prevent further injury to the company’s performers. Issuing an open letter as part of a Change.org petition, Sterling lays it clear:
The sole purpose of this high-risk move (double underhook DDT) is to drive an opponent’s head into the mat. Professional wrestlers on the receiving end of this move are subject to unacceptable levels of risk as it relates to spinal, neck and/or brain injuries.
Over 2,400 fans of real change in professional wrestling have already signed the petition, demanding that the company do what’s right and protect future legends like MJF from loose cannon performers like Jonathan Moxley. Will you join in the fight to keep professional wrestling safe?
