According to Maxwell Jacob Friedman, better known as MJF, not Cody Rhodes, he would be the reigning WWE Champion, if he had transferred his allegiance from AEW.
Over the years, MJF has mentioned a ‘bidding war’ for his professional abilities. However, earlier this year, he ultimately made a decision to renew his contract with AEW, a decision marked symbolically with a tattoo.
In a Twitter exchange, a fan suggested that if MJF had left AEW for WWE, he would currently be holding the WWE’s most sought-after title. In response, MJF concured with a simple, “Ik” (I know).
Ik.

Contrary to hypothetical victories in WWE, MJF’s 2024 accomplishments lie in AEW. He has been the International Champion, a title he has since rebranded as the AEW American Championship.
As of now, MJF finds himself in rivalries with Roderick Strong and Adam Cole of AEW. He has a scheduled match with one of these individuals, set to occur at AEW Full Gear 2024 later this month.
