Good news, everyone! Maxwell Jacob Friedman clears up the uncertainty regarding the incident at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II and Samoa Joe’s security guard.

During his entrance at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II, Samoa Joe appears to push over a security guard that looks an awful lot like MJF. This incident became so linked to Maxwell that he even imitated it himself on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite.

Speaking with Inside The Ropes, MJF clears the air about that incident saying that that was not him who was pushed over and made to look like a schlub by the “Samoan Submission Machine.” However, Maxwell does praise that unknown man for the job he did as the security guard of Samoa Joe.

“I don’t know who that guy was. A lot of people think it was me, that was not me. It’s fake news. I’ll admit it, the guy did vaguely look like me, but I didn’t see it to such an extent that everybody else did. That security guard, it seemed like he was trying to do his best job, protecting Joe, getting in front of him, the wall was closing in. If anything, I would have given that guy a raise, but that was not me. It wouldn’t shock me (if my identity was stolen), a lot of people are trying to steal a lot of different things from me.”

There you have it, ladies and gentlemen! That was not Maxwell Jacob Friedman after all. These days, Maxwell is sulking over his missed opportunity to become AEW World Champion. That wasn’t his fault, either. “Dictator” Jon Moxley just can’t play by the rules.
