During Sunday’s AEW All In 2023 pay-per-view event, MJF defeated Adam Cole to retain the AEW World Championship in the man event of the show.

The title match got off to a slow start with MJF and Cole putting their “Better Than You Baybay” t-shirts on. The bout was riddled with drama, exciting spots, several nearfalls, and most notably, referee Bryce Remsberg taking a lot of offense from the two competitors.

A double pin caused Remsberg to rule it a tie, but Cole demanded five extra minutes and MJF willingly restarted the bout, declaring that five minutes wouldn’t be enough and the match would continue until it yielded a winner.

MJF and Cole then tried to cheat each other out with a chair spot while the referee was down. More back and forth ensued and Remsberg took a Panama Sunrise as well.

A conflicted MJF dropped his Dynamite Diamond Ring, Roderick Strong delivered a low blow to the champion, and Strong almost forced Cole to blast MJF with the AEW World Title.

The finish saw a hesitant Cole throw the title away as MJF used the distraction to roll him up for the pin to retain the AEW World Championship.

Following the match, MJF tried to console Cole who almost turned heel courtesy of Roderick Strong. However, the Panama City Playboy fought his vices and hugged MJF to close out the show.

Cole held up MJF’s hand as confetti showered down and fireworks lit up Wembley Stadium.
