AEW World Champion MJF has refuted the idea that SmackDown Superstar Grayson Waller is trying to imitate him in any way.
Waller was called up to the main roster earlier this year as part of the WWE Draft and has recently formed a partnership with fellow heel Austin Theory.
Speaking to “Wrestle Purists,” MJF rejected the idea that Waller’s cocky personality is a riff on the AEW World Champion’s own work. He said,
”I feel bad for Grayson Waller. Because I get f***ing tagged. ‘Yo Grayson Waller is just trying to be MJF.’ Like, f***ing hell he is. Do you see me wrestling in f***ing basketball shorts. Do I have a f***ing accent? Am I 6’2”? No.”
He continued, “There’s a wrestler that makes you feel something that throughout the avenue of talking, right? ‘Oh f*** who else makes you feel something that throughout the avenue of talking? MJF. Aw, you been copying MJF!’”
MJF will defend the ROH World Tag Team Championships by himself against The Righteous during tonight’s AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view event.
Waller’s most recent match saw himself and Austin Theory defeat Butch & Ridge Holland during the September 22, episode of SmackDown.
