Welcome to another edition of the Question of the Day presented by eWrestlingNews!
The show that left us yawning last night was the match between Jake Paul and ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. Although I am not a big fan of boxing and don’t follow all the events religiously, the spectacle of the fight was hard to ignore. The showmanship, drama, and unpredictable endings reminded me of a typical WWE event. It was almost like watching a Friday Night SmackDown episode.
As WWE doesn’t know when to let go and often takes things too far, imagine this scenario seen from a WWE perspective. The next logical step would be a tag team match between Jake Paul and his brother Logan Paul against Mike Tyson and an enlisted WWE Superstar.
So, the question for today is, “Who would you predict to be Mike Tyson’s partner in this dream match?”

Here’s my take…
Considering the Paul brothers as the villains of the story and leveraging Tyson’s age difference with Jake, the most convenient approach would be to pair Tyson with a seasoned wrestler. It would be a match between the young and overconfident Paul brothers against raw power seasoned with experience.
Although Tyson has acquainted himself with many wrestlers, most of them are retired now. I wouldn’t like to think of them returning to the ring, even in this theoretical scenario. I prefer to keep the imagination to a minimum.
In my mind, the obvious pick that could generate a lot of attraction and interest would be Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Although this seems an unusual pick, it’s not too far fetched. It’s more probable than seeing Shawn Michaels in the ring, despite my confidence in his abilities. As an aside, prime Michaels and prime Logan Paul would have paired extremely well and presented a fantastic match.
Going back to Austin, he’s very much in the running considering he came out of his retirement to face Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38. That proved that even when you think it’s less likely, it might still happen.
If we can’t book Austin, then John Cena or The Rock would be perfect choices due to their impressive popularity. The more high-profile the match, the bigger the event. I would personally not pair Tyson with current top talents like Seth Rollins or Johnny Gargano. Despite their quality, the general audience might not be interested.
I don’t see Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns as worthy contenders. If I need to pick someone from the active rosters, it would be CM Punk. Featuring his MMA experience, even as a loser, would present an interesting backdrop. This could give the Paul brothers leverage to highlight their successes in their promos.
Brock Lesnar, sans his current legal issues, would also be an excellent candidate. With his fighting background and successful career, he could deliver a superb match with Logan Paul. In fact, I rate him higher than Punk if given an option.
In my opinion, it’s Austin first, Cena or Rock if Austin not available, followed by Lesnar and then Punk. Any one after that would be stretching too far.
