In a recent episode of the popular podcast “Talk Is Jericho”, Mike Bailey, a famous wrestler affiliated with TNA, discussed a past incident which led to a ban from the U.S. for him, lasting five years.
Here are some key takeaways from Bailey’s discussion on the podcast:
Bailey touched upon his attempts to participate in an EVOLVE show without a work visa stating, “In trying to cross the border, as I had done countless times before, I mentioned… I’m coming over for a tryout. They proceeded to take my phone, kept it at the back of the room for about an hour, and then returned saying, ‘We know you’re lying. We know you’re receiving payment.’ That resulted in an immediate five-year ban.”
About averting a potential jail sentence, Bailey said, “I was completely oblivious to the prospect of a five-year ban. I had never come across a situation where pro wrestlers faced such a circumstance. I’d heard of numerous instances where people were denied entry because they were suspected and flagged from entry. So I just cooperated and laid out the entire situation.”
It should be noted that Bailey’s responses have been maintained in their original form to preserve the integrity of the interview.
