In a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, professional wrestler ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey voiced his admiration for fellow wrestler Swerve Strickland’s efforts in promoting AEW. Bailey lauded Strickland for his regular media outings and praised his performance both inside and outside the company.
Bailey expressed, “I think Swerve, he is not the AEW Champion in literal terms, but he does champion the company very well. I think he exceeded expectations and performs on an absolutely amazing level week in and week out in AEW. But I think what he does for the company outside of AEW is especially commendable. The way he’s brought pro wrestling to a lot of mainstream forms of media, and the way he does that is absolutely fantastic. I think he represents the company amazingly.”
In a separate incident, Dax Harwood expressed his disappointment towards some AEW fans for mocking him in a recent episode of AEW Collision. This came after Harwoods’ FTR took a heel turn by attacking Cope in their Trios Title match. Talking about the incident, Harwood tweeted;
“What did I ever do to deserve this from the AEW fans? Seriously. I’ve broken my body for you for 5 years & this is what I get? This generation of wrestling fans are cooked.”
The tweet highlights a contentious issue among fans and performers in wrestling circles, pointing towards the sometimes complex dynamics between wrestlers and their followers.
