On a recent episode of the “Ring The Belle” podcast, Mickie James, an ex-WWE star, reflected on her intriguing yet brief narrative arc with John Cena in WWE. Over the course of 2008, the pair featured together in a multiple number of on-air instances.

In regards to her brief storyline with John Cena, James commented, “I’m not entirely certain what the plan was with that. We were in conversation around that time, so it was somehow linked to that. This was no secret, it was quite apparent.”
In regards to the lack of screen chemistry she experienced with Cena, she reflected, “It was one of those instances where we thought it would be interesting to try on-screen. Looking back, I don’t feel like we actually clicked on-screen. Whenever I rewatch those clips, I don’t feel comfortable – it seems contrived and not organic.”
John Cena’s farewell tour is slated to commence the following year, with 36 tour dates lined up, featuring major events like WrestleMania 41, Elimination Chamber 2025, and Royal Rumble 2025. Cena’s culminating match will occur in December 2025.
