WWE LFG’s mentor, Mickie James, expressed her dissatisfaction with the choice of outfit worn by a participant during a recent episode, remarking that it resembled intimate wear.
In the wake of a match between Zena Sterling and Tamara Mae Steele, James reflected on Sterling’s chosen attire, and how it was a step back for women’s wrestling. The veteran wrestler commented,
“May I speak to you about your wrestling outfit? I experienced the diva era, and we fought tooth and nail to prevent wrestling in lingerie. As a female, I have the right to comment on this. It’s incredibly irritating when women enter the wrestling ring and all one can see is their derrière. It’s so disconcerting that it’s the only thing I can see.
“If you aim to be viewed as a serious wrestler, then you need to avoid outfits that resemble glammed-up intimate wear. This is just my perspective, having had to wrestle numerous times on TV.”
James will not be participating in the second season of WWE LFG, as her place will be filled by soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer, Michelle McCool.
McCool’s husband, The Undertaker, was a strong advocate for her participation on the show. Nevertheless, it is not believed that he orchestrated James’s removal from her position.
Then there was an embedded tweet that read: “@MickieJames finally vents out her frustrations” posted by WWE Fan Sonya Bayley.
