Mick Foley is no stranger to dealing with Vince McMahon, and believes the Executive Chairman’s handling of commentators is “counter-productive.”

Over the years, there have been several stories of McMahon screaming in the headsets of commentators during his time overseeing WWE’s on-screen product.

In April 2008, Foley became a commentator for SmackDown but would only be behind the desk for a matter of months before exiting the role that August.

During a recent episode of “Foley is Pod,” the Hardcore legend spoke about wanting to leave the commentary table because of McMahon’s behavior. He said,

“You try to learn from everything you do, and I hope Mr. McMahon learned from that experience. You know, you don’t need to ride your announcers so much. You don’t have to micromanage everything that they do.

“I think it’s counter-productive, especially when it comes to yelling. That’s not the way I perform best.

“I tried it, I think I did a pretty good job. I learned from it. I did not enjoy it.”

Less than a month after leaving the commentary role, Foley’s contract with WWE expired and he would sign with TNA Wrestling shortly after.
