The wrestler known as Mercedes Mone, who was previously recognized as Sasha Banks during her WWE tenure, has the accolade of being one of the first WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. She won this honor in the company of Bayley, and again later with Naomi at the infamous WrestleMania 32 event.
In a recent episode of the “Superstar Crossover” podcast, Mone reflected on her close ties with fellow wrestlers Bayley and Naomi.
Given the task of selecting a preferred tag team partner between Naomi and Bayley, Mone chose to abstain from answering, expressing that choosing between the two would be impossible.
The current AEW TBS Champion humorously noted that such a question might incite a negative response.
Mone humorously commented, “Are you trying to get me assaulted? Trying to put me in harm’s way? I’ve won tag team championships with both of them, damn! Would I partner with Bayley again? Absolutely! I’m game for both. They are two of my closest friends. I can’t make a choice. I simply can’t choose!”
After a period in TNA Wrestling, Naomi made a comeback to WWE at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in 2024. She and Bayley are currently active in the WWE SmackDown roster, with Bayley reigning as the WWE Women’s Champion. In the meantime, Mone has transitioned to AEW.
Mercedes Mone is primed to face off against Stephanie Vaquer, the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, in a Winner Takes All clash tonight at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 event.
