Mayu Iwatani defeated Mercedes Moné to win the IWGP Women’s Championship in the penultimate match at STARDOM All-Star Grand Queendom.
While Mone isn’t the IWGP Women’s Champion anymore, she will stay with NJPW and STARDOM for the immediate future.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Mone signed a contract extension with Bushiroad ahead of her title defense at STARDOM All-Star Grand Queendom. It’s unknown how long the contract extension is.
Following her loss at All-Star Grand Queendom, Mone announced that she will appear at NJPW Resurgence on May 21st in Los Angeles, CA.
Will Ospreay lost the IWGP United States Championship to Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 17, but The Aerial Assassin says this isn’t the end of their story.
Ospreay recently traded barbs with Don Callis on Twitter after the reigning 1PW Champion shared a picture of himself with the title. Ospreay tweeted,
“I’m a war you’ll never win, but I love the optimism.”
Callis responded with a picture of Omega with the IWGP United States Championship. This elicited a quick response from Ospreay in which he wrote, “War ain’t over d**khead.”
Callis then replied, “Really? You know we think you are amazing but we beat you clean and you got dominated physically by @KennyOmegamanX at the Dome. I am glad you are recovering from the injuries sustained there but from my perspective we are moving on to new challenges. Be well Bruv”
