In the recent edition of her Mone Mag Newsletter, the AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone, expressed her admiration for the current ROH Women’s World Champion Athena. Additionally, she shared her aspiration to challenge Athena in a future match. She stated,
“I’m so proud of Athena! She is one of the best in the world she’s definitely a champion I look forward to facing one day.”
Also noteworthy, is AEW grappler Orange Cassidy’s guest appearance on the “Barstool Rasslin” podcast. He had an interesting take on who he thought were the best wrestlers in AEW.
According to Cassidy, Bryan Danielson is an outstanding player indeed but is an obvious mention. He stated,
“You can’t say Bryan Danielson because that’s like, ‘Yeah we know.’ He shouldn’t be put in that because we all know he is, and he’s holding the championship.”
He gave unbiased praise to Kenny Omega, who, he said, inevitably stirs the crowd no matter who his opponent is. He mentioned,
“It doesn’t matter who he is in the ring with, it doesn’t matter what the situation is, he will … he does a phenomenal job of getting the people going, and that’s what you want. He hasn’t wrestled in a while, but Kenny Omega obviously is.”
