The current AEW TBS Champion and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, Mercedes Mone, is potentially considering the creation of her own footwear brand, becoming the latest talent from All Elite to venture into personalized footwear.
Mone became part of the AEW family in March 2024 and subsequently won the TBS Championship at the Double or Nothing event in 2024, triumphing against Willow Nightingale. Further, Mone added another victory to her expansive portfolio at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door event. The NJPW Strong Women’s Title, initially created with Mone in mind, was won by her after defeating Stephanie Vaquer.
During a recent episode of the “Heal Squad” podcast, Keven Undergaro, the representative for Mercedes Mone, mentioned the ongoing conversations with a dominant shoe brand. Undergaro stated:
“A representative from a prominent shoe outlet was discussing plans. As Mercedes’s advocate, it’s noteworthy to mention her exceptional calibre as a talent. She exceeds most of her counterparts significantly in terms of her experience, fame, and achievements. This would hold true even if she chose to compete elsewhere. Given the current roster, maybe except for Logan Paul, who is an exceptional talent himself. Attending these events becomes increasingly challenging as we are swarmed with numerous offers. It’s good, yet difficult. My primary responsibility is ensuring her well-being. This is how the sneaker topic surfaced.”
Notably, The Young Bucks, AEW World Tag Team Champions, have also joined the trend of personal branded footwear, having developed their signature Reebok shoes. Additionally, a new footwear line has been unveiled, paying tribute to the late wrestling star, Brodie Lee.
