Earlier this week, we brought news of Britt Baker’s comeback to All Elite Wrestling at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 pay-per-view event on Sunday evening.
In the aftermath of the show, Tony Khan hinted that Baker will make an appearance in this week’s Dynamite episode. You can see his tweet here:
“Thrilled to welcome back Dr @RealBrittBaker DMD to AEW, tonight at #AEWForbiddenDoor! Looking forward to seeing you this Wednesday in Chicago on TBS at #AEWDynamite!” – A tweet from Tony Khan, dated July 1, 2024.
Mercedes Mone also took part in the post-match conference after the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door event to discuss Britt Baker rejoining after her victory in the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship.
Below highlighted are some significant moments from the media huddle:
When asked about Britt Baker’s return, Mercedes Mone was quite insightful:
“I’m fully aware that a certain lady was eager to intrude on my moment. However, that’s not going to happen. Tonight was about me and my celebration. Britt Baker thinks she can just show up at my event? True, she’s the first woman ever to sign here in AEW. But Tony, am I not the most notable free agent you’ve ever signed here? So any woman who is thinking about stealing my limelight at this Wednesday’s Dynamite, you’re warned.”
About her physical condition post-match: “This was my fourth match with AEW. And now, I stand here as a dual title holder feeling better than ever. I’m absolutely thrilled about my future career at AEW because I feel like it has only just begun. This is where the best wrestlers come to compete, and I consider myself one among them, so I feel absolutely incredible.”
