The forthcoming STARDOM event, slated for October 5, sees Mayu Iwatani enthusiastically gearing up for her match against Toni Storm.
In an unexpected turn of events, Storm showed up at the STARDOM event last Saturday, laying down a gauntlet for Mayu Iwatani in the form of a challenge for the IWGP Women’s Championship.
During a recent dialogue with Tokyo Sports, Iwatani spilled some beans about the looming title encounter and subtly hinted at the likelihood of a future AEW appearance.
Iwatani put forth her feelings eloquently, stating, “I was thrilled to know that Toni considers me a worthy adversary. I will certainly overpower Toni, asserting to the world that I am the rightful champion.”
She further added, “Assuming I conquer Toni, who will be my next opponent…Mariah [May] is the reigning [AEW Women’s World] Champion…I am excited about what the future holds. I cannot predict the path ahead of me. All I know is that I want to carve out my own destiny.”
