Following his controversial rap on last week’s episode of AEW Dark, Max Caster is reportedly “on ice” with the promotion.
Caster and Anthony Bowens, collectively known as The Acclaimed, had been announced for AEW Dark on Tuesday night, but the company later removed the announcement. The episode then aired without any sighting of The Acclaimed. Caster also removed all direct references to AEW from his Twitter page, leading many fans to speculate on his status with the company.
Fightful Select then reported that as of the afternoon of August 10, Caster remains a member of the AEW roster. But his appearances with the company are being described as “on ice,” possibly to avoid negative publicity in the aftermath of his promo, which insulted Simone Biles, referenced Duke Lacrosse, and included an inappropriate joke about Julia Hart. It’s currently unclear how long Caster will be “on ice.”
Caster’s rap was edited out of last week’s episode of AEW Dark, and company president Tony Khan later called the distasteful lyrics “terrible.”
WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
