Ex-WWE wrestling figure, Maven, recently shared an intriguing behind-the-scenes anecdote about his WWE love triangle storyline with compatriots Tajiri and Torrie Wilson, on his personal YouTube channel.
Here are key extracts from the video discussion:
Maven’s recollection of the love triangle plot with Tajiri and Torrie Wilson: “Engrossed in a storyline portraying a love triangle with Tajiri and Torrie Wilson, I sustained a genuine leg fracture. WWE decided to incorporate my real injury into the ongoing storyline, where the narrative had me hospitalized the following week. Just as Torrie and I were making strides in our relationship, a surprise visit from Tajiri was in order. He hauled me unceremoniously out of my sick bed, positioned my fractured leg within the door frame, and harshly closed the door.”
Maven’s insight on the techniques to manipulate the scene: “How did this scene unfold without exacerbating my existing injury? It was more about fooling the viewer’s perception rather than a physical act. The tool of deception here involved a combination of meticulous calculation, preparation and the art of timing, executed by installing a solid block within the doorway. My leg was safely positioned based on careful measurements and extensive rehearsals. I was confident that my leg was safe throughout the act. My confidence, however, was slightly misplaced.”
Recalling their rehearsal sessions: “During our rehearsals, we ensured the door closure was gentle. Adjustments were made with respect to my leg and the block’s position within the doorway, taking into consideration the impact force of the door shutting. The miscalculation lay in underestimating the force during the actual act. Although the mishap did not cause any additional harm, the impact of the door against my already broken leg sent a ripple of sensation throughout my body. Ultimately, it didn’t cause much more damage to my broken leg, I mean, it’s not like it could be broken twice.”
