Maven recently uploaded a video on YouTube where he showered accolades on fellow wrestler, Shelton Benjamin. He emphasized on the fact that he’s yet to encounter a person who has spoken ill of Benjamin, stating:
“We’ve had discussions about how backstage politics can undermine a career. However, there’s another side to this, which brings us to Shelton Benjamin. Now, pause for a moment. Don’t jump to the conclusion that, ‘Maven, do you imply that Shelton owes his success to politics?’ Definitely not. I’ve not met anyone more gifted in athletics than Shelton. I haven’t met a more pleasant person who is perpetually upbeat. From my viewpoint, the WWE always knew that whenever they handed Shelton a title, be it a tag team title, during his singles stint as the IC Champion, or even after his release, he was easily likely to return. The reason, to me, has always been that I’ve never come across anyone who disliked or disrespected Shelton. I’ve never met anyone who had anything negative to say about him. When everyone, including the top brass, likes you, promotions become easy. Although, I am not claiming that this factor significantly contributed towards giving Shelton the push he deserved. However, I’m not denying that it might have eased the process.”
During a recent conversation with DAZN, Paddy Pimblett, a UFC fighter, expressed his wish to engage in a crossover with WWE. He said,
“Indeed, I have given it a thought. I have, mainly because I was a WWE fan growing up. Shawn Michaels, The Heartbreak Kid, is my all-time favourite. It’d be dream come true to Sweet Chin Music someone inside the UFC cage. D-Generation X was a significant part of my younger years, with X-Pac being my favourite wrestler. So, yes, I would love to. Also, the WWE offers handsome remuneration, and you must have character and personality for that, which I do possess. Therefore, it could work out. Hence, Triple H, if you’re open to signing me up, please inform me and I’d gladly make an appearance for a fee.”
