Bill Goldberg had a confrontation with Matt Riddle, bringing up his wealth in response to terse comments made by Riddle about the noted WWE Hall of Famer. Riddle was known to express his negative views about Goldberg in past interviews during his WWE stint.
Riddle, also referred to as the Original Bro, frequently mentioned Goldberg during his time in WWE, illustrating his lack of admiration for the prior WCW World Champion.
In a recent episode of SportsKeeda’s podcast, “WrestleBinge,” Riddle shared an instance where he had a conversation with Goldberg following one of those incidents. His statements during the conversation were as follows:
“Bill was upset with what I said. In one instance that was captured on camera, we had an interaction. Later we met again where we discussed at length, and he criticized me for being disrespectful by my comments. My response was that I didn’t see it in that light. When he asked for my reasoning, I said, ‘Because I was speaking the truth.’ He countered by informing me about the size of his bank balance to which I responded, ‘I don’t doubt that.'”
The anticipated face-off between Riddle and Goldberg never came to pass, much to the fans’ disappointment. Riddle’s contract with WWE was terminated in September 2023.
