While speaking with Jamal Niaz for “Monopoly Events,” Matt Riddle commented on potentially working for AEW or TNA Wrestling.
Riddle is currently working for MLW and NJPW.
The “Original Bro” said, “Yeah, I’d like to see myself in AEW or TNA. I talked to TNA, and everything looks good there. It’s just that my schedule’s very packed. I got four kids. If somebody offers me a date that’s gonna pay my rate, I’m gonna show up and first come, first serve. But right now, I’m kind of focusing more on MLW and New Japan. Those are the guys that showed up first at my door, wanted to help me and believe in me. So I’m kind of giving them the ball first. But TNA, AEW, there’s always a possibility. But like we said earlier, with wrestling on TV, especially with live TV, it’s a, I don’t know if you can swear on this, but it’s a poop storm. It’s a poop storm. When you do live TV at any capacity, especially in pro wrestling, it’s a mess, it really is, unless you are very well-organized and perfect at it. Even WWE, even AEW, nobody is, and things happen, things change. I think j just wanted a break from that, and not only a break from that, but from the travel schedule. You know, WWE schedule, won’t say a bad thing about them, they’re great, they paid me, they treated me great. But the work schedule’s very tough. It’s hard, and then just the wear and tear of that and everything else and not just having the ability to go on vacation or do this or do that anytime ever. I just wanted to get away from that, I wanted to get away from the schedule, and then when I do work, I don’t want to be confined to time limits.”
Matt Riddle Discusses Potential Move to AEW or TNA Wrestling
In a recent interview with Jamal Niaz for “Monopoly Events,” professional wrestler Matt Riddle opened up about the possibility of working for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) or Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling. Riddle, also known as the “Original Bro,” currently wrestles for Major League Wrestling (MLW) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).
When asked about the potential move to AEW or TNA, Riddle expressed his interest in both promotions. He revealed that he has already had conversations with TNA and that everything looks promising. However, due to his busy schedule and personal commitments, he is currently focusing more on MLW and NJPW.
Riddle mentioned that his decision to prioritize MLW and NJPW was influenced by their early support and belief in him. He appreciates the opportunities they have given him and wants to show his gratitude by dedicating his time and effort to these promotions. Nevertheless, he emphasized that there is always a possibility of working with AEW or TNA in the future.
The wrestler also shed light on the challenges of live TV in professional wrestling. He described it as a “poop storm,” emphasizing the unpredictable nature of the medium. Riddle acknowledged that even top promotions like WWE and AEW face difficulties in organizing and executing live shows flawlessly. He expressed his desire to take a break from such demanding schedules and the toll it takes on his personal life.
Riddle further explained that he wanted to escape the constant travel associated with WWE’s rigorous schedule. While he had positive experiences with WWE and appreciated their treatment and payment, he desired more flexibility in his work-life balance. The demanding nature of WWE’s schedule left him with little time for vacations or personal activities. Therefore, he sought a change that would allow him to have more control over his time and not be confined to strict time limits during his matches.
The interview provided fans with insight into Matt Riddle’s career aspirations and his perspective on the wrestling industry. While he is currently committed to MLW and NJPW, he remains open to future opportunities with AEW or TNA. Riddle’s dedication to his craft and desire for a healthier work-life balance demonstrate his commitment to personal growth and professional success. Wrestling enthusiasts will undoubtedly keep an eye on his journey as he continues to make waves in the industry.
