Matt Riddle Says He Wouldn’t Change A Thing In His Life, Kofi Kingston Speaks Out

In September, wrestler Matt Riddle was let go by WWE following multiple failed drug tests and a scandalous incident at JFK Airport, where he made accusations of sexual harassment against a Port Authority police officer.

In a recent episode of the podcast “Developmentally Speaking”, the wrestler known as the Original Bro discussed his tenure with the company. His sentiments are as follows,

“That’s the tale of my journey so far. In my UFC days, I was on a roll – a five-fight win streak, defeating top-ranked fighters, made it to the top ten in the world in the welterweight category, and then smoked weed and got fired. Even in WWE, I was doing well until my partner got injured and I seemed to always be the guy The Bloodline beat up. Then the incident at the airport after few cocktails…people forming judgments about me. Anyway…”

Matt goes on to say, “All said and done, life happens. I am where I’m supposed to be. Some might chastise me for my decisions but I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. That’s me. Life is meant to be a roller coaster ride – full of ups & downs.”

In another episode of the “In the Kliq” podcast, fellow WWE wrestler Kofi Kingston reminisced about his KofiMania journey that culminated in a WWE Title at WrestleMania 35.

Highlights from this match can be found below:

About the original WrestleMania 35 plans for New Day: “At that point, I don’t think I even had a match scheduled. The New Day didn’t have a rivalry, feud, storyline, or much of anything for that matter. We were just being the New Day.”

About how KofiMania evolved: “Originally, my feud with Daniel Bryan was supposed to end at Fastlane… before Mania or between the Elimination Chamber and Mania. But due to the overwhelming crowd response and public demand for me in the main event, the company decided to follow that path. I’m grateful that they chose to listen to the crowd because it’s not always the case, you know?”
