Ronda Rousey can attribute a lot of her success to being in the right place at the right time, according to fellow MMA alum Matt Riddle.
After dominating the world of UFC, Rousey joined WWE in 2018 and would become RAW Women’s Champion mere months after her debut match at WrestleMania 34.
With reports that Rousy will be leaving WWE after Summerslam, Riddle spoke on The Bump about the Baddest Woman on the Planet. He said,
“We’ve all seen what has happened over the years. And you [The Bump’s guest Shayna Baszler] are right, Ronda, right place at the right time, we’re not going to take anything from her. But I know everything about that, if you are in the right place at the right time, you get pushed.
“When she came into mixed martial arts, right place, right time, right look, there you go. WWE [act like] you didn’t start WrestleMania, she did. Even though you were putting years of work in.”
Shayna Baszler turned on Ronda Rousey at WWE Money in the Bank, and the two will face off at WWE Summerslam on August 5.
If this is Rousey’s final match as reported, it is believed the prominently featured feud is Rousey’s thank-you to Baszler who has helped her immensely as a pro-wrestler.
