Matt Riddle Re-Signs With WWE Following Contract Negotiations

As first reported by Fightful Select (subscription required) and Heel by Nature, Matt Riddle has signed on the dotted line to extend his tenure in WWE following a few back and forth negotiations. The SmackDown star’s contract was set to expire in August 2021, and WWE’s initial contract offer was reportedly for $400,000 a year plus Saudi Arabia match bonuses.
Riddle is currently in a tag team with Jeff Hardy on SmackDown that will be known as the Hardy Bros. He is relatively new to the main roster, having spent most of his time in his prior deal on NXT. He was seen as a top prospect on the black and gold brand, and his relatively quick jump to WWE TV proves that the company has some faith in him.
