CM Punk made his return to WWE this past November at Survivor Series 2023, a couple of months after Matt Riddle was released from the company.
Riddle, who is now signed to MLW, spoke with MMA Junkie about Punk’s return to WWE after almost a decade.
Riddle and Punk have never crossed paths as Punk got into the UFC after Riddle had left, and Punk returned to WWE after Riddle had been released.
Riddle and UFC had a very ugly falling out with Dana White calling him a “f*cking moron” after he failed a second drug test for cannabis.
Punk and WWE had a very nasty falling out as well, but fences were mended enough for the former AEW World Champion to return.
Riddle said, “I’m not surprised because WWE, they like money and CM Punk is money, just like he was money in mixed martial arts. You can’t argue with a man that is money. That’s like with UFC. I know if I fight, I’ll sell tickets. It’s just if they want it.”
Riddle will appear on the MLW Holiday Rush special episode on Christmas Eve.
