At NXT TakeOver: Portland, the Undisputed Era defended the NXT Tag Team Championship against Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne. Before the match, Riddle led the fans in a chant of, “How much fish could Bobby Fish fry if Bobby Fish could fry fish?” The champions attacked Riddle and Dunne and the match was underway. Dunne and Riddle controlled the contest early on but the champions used their experience to turn the tables on their opponents.

Fish and Kyle O’Reilly isolated Dunne, but he tagged Riddle. The Original Bro floored Fish and O’Reilly with a flurry of offense. O’Reilly countered a moonsault and suplexed Riddle, who rolled through it. Riddle nailed O’Reilly with a knee strike. O’Reilly countered an armbar from Dunne into an ankle lock but Dunne turned it around and locked O’Reilly in one. Riddle broke it up with a knee and all four men were down. Fish dodged a Doomsday Device and suplexed Riddle off the top rope. Dunne accidentally knocked Riddle off the apron and Riddle accidentally speared Dunne. The champions hit Dunne with Chasing The Dragon for a near fall. Riddle and Dunne rallied and Riddle pinned Fish after Dunne rocked him with a knee.
