In the latest episode of his acclaimed “Extreme Life” podcast, wrestling veteran of TNA, Matt Hardy, referred to the tragic passing of Eddie Guerrero, who died from a heart attack in 2005.

Here are some notable moments from the podcast, as quoted:

On the moment he was informed about the tragedy: “I recall when we made it to the arena in Minneapolis, at the Target Center. That’s the exact location where we were when I found out about Eddie… It was just as we arrived at the facility, right as I walked in. Somebody approached me and said, ‘I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Eddie passed away last night.’ I was stunned. The news was so shocking it just didn’t seem like reality.”

On the impact of the news on others: “Benoit was completely shattered. This event took a huge toll on him, emotionally and spiritually, I’m sure of it. I also remember lots of the women being deeply upset. Many of us were in a state of shock, unable to believe what had happened. The sudden death of a man who had been wrestling at a professional level is incredibly hard to digest.”

On how Eddie’s death changed his perspective on life: “This jolting experience made me realize the unpredictability of life, the fact that tomorrow isn’t a given. Now, I keep reminding people about this. My philosophy is to live each day as if it could be my last. Nothing is guaranteed in life. We must seize each day and make the most of it. Also, never leave your loved ones without expressing your affection for them, because the reality is, we never know when it might be the last time we see them.”
