Matt Hardy, despite his absence from AEW, expressed immense satisfaction in observing the wrestling promotion secure a prosperous new contract with WBD.
This newly minted deal is approximated to be valued at an annual 0-185 million for a span of three years, ensuring that Dynamite and Collision continue to be aired on TBS and TNT.
On a recent episode of his podcast “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy”, Matt Hardy conveyed his optimism for the future trajectory of AEW. His comments were,
“It’s a huge positive. The more places that are thriving and doing well in pro wrestling, especially promotion-wise, the better it is for professional wrestling in general.”
“The fact that AEW got this deal — it’s a super positive thing. AEW existing is for the better of pro wrestling, no doubt. It’s better for the fans. It’s better for the people who work in wrestling.”
He further noted that Tony Khan, AEW’s owner, possesses a wealth of resources, which would help bolster the future prospects of the wrestling promotion.
Reports speculate that AEW might extend its reach beyond WBD by introducing the anticipated ‘Shockwave’ show on FOX, especially since the network no longer broadcasts SmackDown.
After departing from AEW early this year, Matt has returned to TNA Wrestling, where he has reunited with Jeff Hardy.
Previously, Matt Hardy expressed his opinions on AEW’s strategy of broadcasting monumental matches on television rather than reserving them for pay-per-view events. His comments can be found here.
