Matt Hardy is hopeful that the recent main event of WrestleMania 39: Night One will not be the last time we see a tag-team match headline the show.
In the main event of WrestleMania: Saturday, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens dethroned The Usos to capture the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.
The match marked the second time in WrestleMania history that a tag match headlined the show (after WrestleMania 1) and the first time a Tag Title match main evented.
On his “Extreme Life” podcast, Matt Hardy shared his views on the match. He said,
“That was great and I loved to see it. I wish they [WWE] would do it more. I think tag team wrestling is a very special entertaining field in pro wrestling and I think it is very important for it to be highlighted as a main event.”
The match also made Kevin Owens a Grand Slam Champion in WWE while Zayn is now the first Muslim Superstar to headline WrestleMania.
During this week’s AEW Dynamite, Matt’s brother Jeff returned to TV and reunited with his brother.
