Professional wrestler Matt Hardy, previously of TNA Wrestling, could potentially be appearing in a WWE ring as early as next week, participating in a high-stakes 25-man WWE NXT Battle Royal.
This week’s episode of WWE NXT declared a battle royal for a chance to win the NXT Championship, with participants coming from “all locker rooms.” Given the most recent collaboration between NXT and TNA, many fans interpreted this statement by Cody Rhodes as a hint that TNA wrestlers might be participating. Matt Hardy seemed to confirm this speculation with a suggestive tweet.
On Twitter, Hardy stated: “After I SECURE the TNA World Title on Friday, I might just ERADICATE 24 LOATHSOME OPPONENTS & also become the NXT Champion.”
Matt Hardy was a professional mentor on the inaugural iteration of WWE NXT back in the early parts of 2010. He ended his contract with WWE in 2020, and earlier this year left AEW.
