On a recent edition of his “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Matt Hardy spoke about the current state of the AEW roster and who he expects to have a breakout year in 2024. He said,

“I think with the love the AEW fans have shown Will Ospreay, and I think the way Tony [Khan] feels about Will Ospreay, and the type of wrestling matches he’s putting out, he’s putting out these incredible matches, and that is what Tony Khan is about through and through and through, I could see a breakout year for Will Ospreay.

“Mariah May has been doing real good, I can see her doing even better. I think [Kazuchika] Okada is going to seem like he is having a breakout year to the American audience, because he’s playing a different role.”

Hardy recently parted ways with AEW after his contract expired. He has gone on to return to TNA Wrestling and is feuding with World Champion Moose.

Despite this, Hardy could return to AEW. He has said he has not signed a deal with TNA and is exploring his options with various wrestling promotions including AEW.
