In a recent YouTube upload, professional wrestler Matt Cardona expressed his thoughts on his career in 2024 so far and on the prospect of returning to WWE.
Below are some key takeaways from the video:
Discussing the current year, Cardona remarked, “This year has been wild, marking my two-decade anniversary in the industry and four years since my departure from WWE. Recovering from injury, I pushed through the doctor’s estimated six to eight months recovery time in just four months. Time is not a luxury I have, yet I am convinced that my prime years are still to come. I’ve accomplished much in the independent circuits – winning championships, featuring on magazine covers, and touring the globe. All this experience was necessary for my growth, both as a performer and as an individual. The question now is, where do I go from here? WWE or AEW? Appearing in Adam Copeland’s AEW Collision event earlier this year proved to me that my efforts were not for naught.”
He further delved into his future objectives, stating, “As a child I didnt just aspire to be a wrestler, but to be the best wrestler. This has to be the goal to thrive in this industry. My career spanning 20 years has seen ups and downs, yet I’ve never been crowned the WWE World Champion. That has to be my objective. If it’s not, then what am I working towards? While I relish the independent circuits, there are still days when I doubt what I’m doing with my life. I enjoy being where I am now, but I also know that were I to return, I could make a significant impact.”
