Matt Cardona & Impact Wrestling Part Ways

Matt Cardona and Impact Wrestling have parted ways.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Cardona has finished up his commitments with the promotion for now. The former Zack Ryder has been working without a contract for the past several years.

The report notes that Impact Wrestling officials were hopeful they’d be able to sign him to a contract with guaranteed dates. While Cardona was happy with the idea of confirmed dates, he wanted to continue on the handshake deal they’ve had in place and Impact officials weren’t interested in continuing on with that. Both sides are open to working with each other in the future.

Finally, it was stated that Impact has been adamant on signing talents to deals in recent months. Two examples of this are Nick Aldis’ short-term contract and Trinity also signing a contract.
