According to Mark Henry, the utilization of the WWE ID policy will significantly assist wrestlers in dealing with potential concerns that might impact their careers. Mark shared these comments while speaking on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast recently.
During the broadcast, he expressed how the strategy might aid in addressing issues before they intensify. He elaborated,
“There need to be individuals who point out, ‘You’ve got some issues that need addressing. You still have a criminal past. It may hinder us from taking you to Canada. Are you working on this? Did you consider getting your record expunged? You’ll need to invest funds into it. Why should the WWE spend resources to fix your personal problems?’ These are the types of discussions that need to take place.”
Additionally, Henry suggests that the program may also address weight-related issues. He provided further clarification,
“A talent will need to be told, ‘We appreciate your performance in the ring. However, we want you to lose 40 pounds.’ And yes, female talents might hear this too. These might be tough discussions. ‘He called me overweight!’ No, we’re simply preparing you for TV if it’s something you’re interested in.”
This new initiative, known as WWE ID, is WWE’s latest talent acquisition strategy, which offers independent wrestlers a straight path into the world of Sports Entertainment.
Those signed will be privileged to access WWE’s advanced Performance Center along with guidance from Gabe Sapolsky and others.
Earlier this year, Henry made an appearance on WWE RAW with his son Jacob, who signed a WWE NIL contract with the organization. Check out his return in the video below.
