On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry reacted to how WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was treated at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff event last week.
At last week’s press conference, Cody Rhodes turned down the chance to wrestle Rollins in favor of Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On how WWE should’ve handled Seth Rollins at the press conference: “Give him an edge. Have him walk up and just say, ‘Listen. Obviously, I’m in the wrong place because I defend my title. I kick a** every week. You line them up, I knock them down. Everybody here hasn’t wrestled in f*****g five years, 10 years, haven’t wrestled but three times this year. Well, Cody, you actually are pretty damn good, that’s why I wanted to face you, but you chose people that don’t wrestle, so I bid you adieu.’”
On how Rollins didn’t need to be at the press conference: “And I would have left. And now you fix it. He didn’t need to be out there. And when Cody got slapped, everybody should have cleared out of the back.”
During last night’s episode of WWE RAW, Rollins offered to act as Cody’s “shield” in his battle against Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.
In a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry shared his thoughts on how WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was treated at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff event. Henry suggested that WWE should have handled Rollins differently during the press conference and expressed his belief that Rollins didn’t need to be there in the first place.
During the press conference, Cody Rhodes declined the opportunity to face Rollins and instead chose to wrestle Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. Henry proposed that WWE should have given Rollins an edge by having him confront Rhodes and the other participants at the press conference. He suggested that Rollins could have said something along the lines of, “I defend my title. I kick a** every week. You guys haven’t wrestled in years or have only wrestled a few times this year. Cody, you’re actually pretty damn good, that’s why I wanted to face you, but you chose people that don’t wrestle. So, I bid you adieu.”
Henry further emphasized that Rollins didn’t need to be present at the press conference at all. He believed that Rollins should have made a statement by walking away after expressing his disappointment with the situation. Additionally, Henry suggested that when Rhodes was slapped during the press conference, everyone else should have cleared out of the back, leaving Rhodes to deal with the consequences of his actions.
During a recent episode of WWE RAW, Rollins offered to act as Rhodes’ “shield” in his match against Reigns and The Bloodline. This gesture indicates that Rollins is willing to put aside their differences and support Rhodes in his battle against Reigns.
The reactions and suggestions made by Mark Henry shed light on how WWE could have handled Seth Rollins’ situation differently at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff event. While it is unclear how WWE will proceed with this storyline, fans will undoubtedly be eager to see how Rollins, Rhodes, Reigns, and The Bloodline’s feud unfolds leading up to WrestleMania XL.
